February 2025

000-9000 Step Challenge starts in

Standby - a bigger and better step challenge is coming in February.

000-9000 Step Challenge in February

Exercise is well known to be a great benefit for your mental health so we band together to count our steps and encourage one another to get those bodies moving in February. We have our very own step tracker so that you can monitor your own steps as well as combine everyones for a total step tally. There are tips and information provided to help you meet your goals.

TAKE YOURSELF FROM 000 TO 9000+ STEPS!

ANY WAY YOU CAN!

Improve your mental health and help out The Code 9 Foundation?

This is where you come to join the team and register to support the 000 - 9000+ steps challenge for The Code 9 Foundation.   The first steps to improving your physical and mental health and supporting the health of first responders starts here.

Our front-line first responders need your support.   Your whole registration fee goes straight to programs designed to support first responders from Ambulance Victoria, Fire Rescue Victoria, Victoria Police and Triple Zero Victoria with mental health injuries.

The connection between exercise and improved mental health is well documented how much exercise impacts on your own general feeling of wellbeing.   All this, packaged up with the important benefits of improved heart health and knocking off any winter kilos by walking 9000+ steps a day as well as helping a great charity. You can choose to make February a month of great personal development and community impact.

The 000-9000+ Step Challenge gives you a chance to

  • Improve your physical and mental health through regular exercise.
  • Feel a sense of achievement by getting off that couch and moving.
  • Raise money to help support First Responders suffering from PTSD.

WIN!

For your chance to win, all you need to do is step. Our prizes aren't just for those that step the furthest, we have prizes for those that encourage others, those that post creatively and those that just simply try really hard to improve.

It’s been amazing seeing everyone’s steps and progress throughout the month and I’ve loved being a part of it.  I’ve been truly inspired by the members who’s steps have increased each day edging towards the magical 9000 step mark.  I look forward to participating again and helping raise money for this amazing cause. Also a big shout out to all of the first responders who are always there when we need them.  It’s a thank less task and it’s great to know that there’s a support network such as The Code 9 Foundation that’s there when ever you need it!

So much emotional and mental baggage (aka: weight) left behind with each step I’ve taken this month, another huge bonus. I’ve said goodbye to 8.2kg this month alone and I definitely feel lighter (18.6kg down in total since August!)

...it has been an honour to have participated for a second year, I have achieved 363,189 steps in 31 days & i will be encouraging family & friends to join me next year :) A huge Kudos to all those who participated & pushed beyond your limits to achieve your goals, you have all been encouraging, inspirational & I hope you all continue to keep achieving! My next goal is to complete 100km of running for Nov.

31 of 31 down. Challenge complete! 11,799 average daily steps, 266.79km total distance walked. And more importantly, $285 raised for The Code 9 Foundation

Thank you everyone for the continued inspiration and encouragement.

We were inspired by my sister Julie Scollary, and thought we was time to get our lives back on track.. NO MORE EXCUSES! What started out as an attempt at 9000 steps per day (and a donation for a great cause) has turned running 3 to 4 times a week and at home workouts. I have found my love for running again, and my husband who never ran also loves running now. We have both lost weight, but most importantly gained control of our lives again! Thank you Julie and Thank you Code 9"
